Mid Section
The MID section of the Whitsunday Islands offers a broad range of environments. On the mainland coast it’s ranging from Midge Point in the south, as far as to Bowen in the north of Airlie Beach, the heart of the Whitsundays. The country town Proserpine is located 25km inland from the coast on the Bruce Highway. All other location listed here offer boat ramps and several marinas provide access to the Whitsunday Island Group mid-section.
The famous tourist resort town of Airlie Beach is not only located at the mainland coast centre of the Whitsundays, it is also considered its heart. With the greatest range of entertainment, amenities, businesses and shopping opportunities it is seen as the central hub of the islands mid-section.
